Jazz Arts of the Mountainwest to produce video series for music education

Happy new year! As we all know, the global COVID-19 pandemic has been an extreme challenge for everyone. The impact to our youth, educators and musicians has been especially felt in our local communities.

Access to cultural events, live shows and in-person music education was greatly impacted with the global pandemic yet our resolve to inspire people to experience the wonderful world of jazz has never been stronger.

Early on, Jazz Arts of the Mountainwest knew that putting on the yearly Salt Lake City Jazz festival, or any kind of in-person event would be next to impossible in 2020. Working with our board members, JAM determined that a virtual event would best serve our dedication to the performance, education, and enjoyment of America’s music – Jazz.

With the help of our communities and Salt Lake County Zoo Arts and Parks, JAM is excited to announce that we will be presenting a video series targeted at school age youth. Covering the history of jazz, these video series will be available online and through local educators for free.

Our goal is to help audiences of all ages better understand, not just the music, but the amazing cultural aspects that jazz offers to the development of diversity and individual creativity. We thank you for your continued support and look for our first video soon!
