Salt Lake City Jazz Orchestra

Founded in 1973 under the moniker, The Floor/Crismon Big Band, the band changed its name to “The JAM Band” when Jazz Arts of the MountainWest was founded in 1992. Then in 2004, Mayor Rocky Anderson and talk-show host, Larry King, renamed the band, “The Salt Lake City Jazz Orchestra.” The SLCJO became the “house band” for the SLC Jazz Festival and has backed some of the finest entertainers and jazz artists in the world.
